About Christ The King
At the junction of Mile Road and London Road, stands the Catholic Church of Christ the King. It is a church building, a hall and it stands away from the road in the corner of a large site which also contains the presbytery.
The church was opened on Whit Monday, 6thJune 1960 however prior to that the hall was the church and a Cross can be still seen on the roof of the hall.
